The 2016 Henskens Rankin Vintage Brut is a rare, late-disgorged traditional-method sparkling wine from Tasmania. A multi-regional blend of 57% Chardonnay and 43% Pinot Noir from Pipers River and the Coal River Valley, it spent more than nine years on lees before being disgorged in December 2025 with a very low 1.5 g/L dosage. Only 1,200 bottles were produced.

Producer

Founded by Frieda Henskens and David Rankin, Henskens Rankin specialises in small-production traditional-method sparkling wines. Working with fruit sourced from sustainability-minded Tasmanian growers, the pair favour extended lees ageing and detailed, small-scale winemaking to create distinctive wines with finesse, complexity and longevity.

Tasting Note

Lemon-pale gold with a vibrant, fine bead. Ripe white peach, nectarine and lemon curd meet honeyed toast, almond meal, nougat and brioche, with savoury notes of oyster shell and sea spray. Raspberry confit and strawberry parfait reflect the generous Pinot Noir component, while bright natural acidity drives a long, dry and poised finish.

Serve well chilled with oysters, shellfish, smoked salmon, roast chicken, creamy cheese or as a celebratory aperitif.

Australia-wide delivery is $20, or free when you spend $300 or more. Orders are dispatched five days a week, and local deliveries are handled by the Lennox Wine team.
