The 2020 Sigurd Joan Pinot Noir is a refined, savoury expression of Pinot Noir from an organically farmed block in Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills. Three clones—MV6, 114 and 115—were hand-picked from a cool, protected gully, bringing together forest-fruit perfume, natural freshness and fine structure.

Sigurd Wines is the small family label of third-generation winemaker Daniel Graham. Established in 2012 and named for Graham's great-grandfather, Sigurd works with sustainably farmed, organic and biodynamic vineyards across South Australia. The wines are made by hand with native fermentation, minimal additions and an emphasis on freshness, character and a clear expression of site.

Tasting Note

Wild mushroom and forest berries lead into integrated cedar and gentle spice. The palate is long and composed, with soft, persistent tannins, bright natural acidity and a savoury woodland character that opens further with air. Decant for around an hour when serving now, or cellar carefully for further development.

Pair with duck, roast mushrooms, game birds, pork or earthy lentil dishes.
