The 2024 Stargazer Chardonnay draws on fruit from the Palisander vineyard in the Coal River Valley and Ouse in the Derwent Valley. Wild fermentation, full malolactic fermentation and eight months on lees in French oak create a Tasmanian Chardonnay of precision, texture and quiet power.

Stargazer is the Tasmanian project of owner and winemaker Samantha Connew. Established in 2012 and centred on the Palisander vineyard in the Coal River Valley, the label reflects Connew’s extensive Australian and international winemaking experience through detailed, cool-climate wines with clarity, structure and a strong sense of place.

Tasting Note

White nectarine and fresh pear are layered with gunflint, almond meal, citrus and crushed-stone detail. The palate is taut yet generous, with hazelnut-toned oak, mouth-watering acidity and a long, briny finish.

Pair with oysters, scallops, roast poultry or buttery fish.
