A vibrant, savoury expression of Gamay from Bannockburn's estate vineyard in Geelong's Moorabool Valley. The fruit comes from a small 0.57-hectare block planted in 2014 and grafted to Gamay in 2019. Made using 100% whole-bunch carbonic maceration, it combines bright red fruit, aromatic spice and silky texture with the distinctly savoury character of the Bannockburn estate.

Producer

Bannockburn Vineyards was established by Stuart Hooper in 1974 and remains family-owned. Located in the Moorabool Valley, around 25 kilometres northwest of Geelong, the estate has become one of the region's benchmark producers.

Winemaker Matt Holmes takes a thoughtful, minimal-intervention approach, working with estate-grown fruit to preserve the character of Bannockburn's cool climate, low-fertility soils and limestone-rich landscape.

Tasting Note

Bright cherry red with aromas of cranberry, red cherry and whole-bunch spice, followed by roasted nuts, smoked herbs and a subtle savoury, gamey character. Medium-bodied, juicy and silky, with fine tannins, energetic acidity and a lingering savoury finish.

Delicious lightly chilled and well suited to barbecued lamb, roast chicken, charcuterie, mushrooms and herb-led vegetable dishes.

Free local delivery within 5km of Lennox Wine, with no minimum order.

Australia-wide delivery is $20, or free when you spend $300 or more. Orders are dispatched five days a week, and local deliveries are handled by the Lennox Wine team.
